Scottish Inter-club League: 26th to 27th May 2007, Portmoak, Kinross

The results are in for the first round of the Scottish Interclub League took place at Portmoak on the 26-27th May with five Scottish Gliding clubs competing.

Highland Gliding Club was represented in the Pundit, Intermediate and novice class. Each class was given a set task.

The pundit class task was Portmoak, Edzell then to Bridge of Cally and Braemar then return to Portmoak. Stuart Naylor flying the Duo Discus in the Pundit Class had a difficult day managed to land out at Edzell and finished in 3rd position.

The Intermediate class Task was Portmoak, Cupar Angus return Portmoak.
Phil Penrose flying the Jantar 767 started off well and finally ran out of lift near Cupar Angus and landed out. Phil also finished in 3rd position.

John Thomson flew LS7, 753 in the Novice class. The task was Portmoak to Ballanluig and return. John had an enjoyable day and managed to complete the task finishing in a respectable 3rd position also.

With the tremendous efforts of the competing Club members Highland Gliding Club hold 2nd position after the first round and the next round of the competition will be held at Easterton at the end of July, so all to play for on home territory!
